Instrument Trade-In

Jan Hampton Violins is pleased to offer our customers an option to trade-in instruments purchased from our store. 

Trade-In Offer:
- Receive a portion of the instrument base value (to be determined on a case-by-case basis) towards the purchase of a new instrument from our store.

- Upgrade to a better-quality instrument as your skill increases!


Terms:
- The instrument must be brought into the shop for an in-person evaluation (appointment is required, and the instrument must be left at the shop for the time required to be professionally evaluated - a claim ticket will be issued)
- Instrument must have been purchased from Jan Hampton Violins
- If the instrument was purchased using previously accrued Rental Credit - the rental credit portion used towards the initial purchase will be deducted from the valuation of the instrument
- The valuation of the instrument will take into account cost depreciation based on time and condition
- Trade-in value can only be applied to the purchase of an In-Stock instrument, instrument outfit, or instrument/bow combination and excludes small items and accessories (i.e. not store credit and no special orders)
- If the instrument is in degraded or poor condition, Jan Hampton Violins retains the right to price the instrument at our discretion
- Jan Hampton Violins retains the right to refuse the trade if the instrument is unsalvageable, is in degraded or poor condition, or the cost of repair exceeds the market value
- Jan Hampton Violins retains the right to change the terms and condition of this courtesy trade-in offer at any time (i.e. the trade-in offer is not a guarantee)
- Customer must be in good standing with Jan Hampton Violins (i.e. we will refuse to trade-in an instrument that was associated with a delinquent account, a non-payment account, or an account that was closed due to abandonment and was declared terminated)


We aim to work with all our customers to the best of our ability to offer them this trade-in option and we hope that our musicians will take advantage of this offer as they continue their musical journey. The best guarantee for making sure your instrument stays in great shape is to treat your instrument well: follow your instrument care guide and play your instrument regularly!
