Meet Our Staff: Spencer Jensen

Spencer Jensen has been working as a bow repair specialist since 2017. He studied bow rehair, repair, and bow-making with Lynn Hannings at the Violin Craftsmanship Institute hosted at the University of New Hampshire.

Along with this training, Spencer worked for over a year under the mentorship of bow specialist Jim Greer in Fairport, New York. Throughout his experience, Spencer has performed bow rehair and repairs for a wide range of clients including professional musicians, music school students, university music programs, school districts, and stringed instrument shops.

In addition to bow work, Spencer has performed double bass professionally in several orchestras,
as a soloist, and in jazz and string band settings. He has also taught private music lessons for
over 13 years.

Please allow approximately 2 weeks for bow rehairing turnaround.

A student-level bow can be sent out on loan if needed (pending availability) for the duration of the bow rehair service. Please let us know if you need a loaner bow at the time you bring your bow in for service.
